Linking to a Poll from a Mailing

To link to the poll from a mailing:

  1. Copy the information from the Linking To Your Poll From a Mailing text box.
  2. Paste the information it in the e-mail message where you want the link to the poll to appear.

The advantage of using a link from e-mail is that the poll can be updated at any time after deployment. This is because the poll is generated when the recipient clicks on the link; the poll resides on the e-Dialog system and is never merged into the mailing. You can go back into the poll setup and make changes to the poll at any time.

One disadvantage of linking to a poll is that you may receive fewer responses because you are asking the user to navigate away from the e-mail. Having the poll questions right in the mailing is more convenient for the recipient.

Note: Outlook 2007 does not support forms. If any of your recipients are using Outlook 2007, you should include a link so that they can view the poll on your Web site.
